Event Management Services

Connerly & Associates

Events deserve character. Character motivates innovation.
Events with character build opportunities. Give your event character with C&A.

Millions of events take place each year in California alone. To stand out, event participants want to set the right tone, what we call character. Whether it’s to kick off a new round of charitable fundraising at a state golf resort or launch a new product line after years of hardwork, an exceptional event needs character to make the right impression for your business.

We believe character distinguishes your events from being just parties and conferences. Events build opportunities, by connecting the right people, in the right place, at the right time.

Corporate Events

The C&A team can assist you in developing a business case for your event and giving that event the character that allows you to wow your attendees beyond their expectations.

Association Events

C&A continues to work with numerous associations across the country to implement strategic changes to their events, to name a few, in order to solve the unique set of challenges facing countless associations today.

Not-for-Profit Events

At C&A, we have enjoyed for decades now the very strongest of ties to numerous communities across the region and around the world.

We know with intimacy the levels of funding, the structure in place to meet staffing, not to mention volunteer challenges, faced by the non profits with which we have worked over the years. We are, therefore, in a key position to help organizations to be flexible and adaptable to circumstances.

About C&A

Our Philosophy has Character

An event, in many ways, is like a five-act play.

ACT 1. Setting the Stage: We want to know your vision.

An event, in many ways, is like a five-act play. First, we encourage our clients to identify the purpose of the event. If an event’s function is identified, then the next step in the event planning process is to match place with function, that is, to secure a venue whose tone fits with the character of your event vision. This whole process is where Connerly & Associates steps in, to work with you to understand your event needs and determine what type of destination matches both your vision and your budget. Because when we are given a budget, we stay within it.

ACT 2. Let us help find what to do.

Once our specialists have helped you to determine the venue, the next part of the journey is work with your representatives to determine what types of activities best suit the event’s goals. More is not always best and, oftentimes, other companies will recommend venues simply on account of the numerous options for activities attendees can participate in. Our Event Planning and Implementation Team explores possible venues always in terms of character. Does our client want a venue where teaming building exercises are one of the main activities of the event, in which case a relaxed atmosphere, secluded from the roar of freeways (as an example), is desirable, so as to maximise the attendees’ abilities to focus? Or is having fun over wine the main goal of the event, in which case a venue with stunning views of the setting sun over a mountainous landscape the more appetising alternative?

ACT 3. TIME! Administration.

Part of what makes an event successful is the “well-oiled machinery” of administration. Most staff members here at C&A have been with the firm for 15 years or more, providing clients with stability, experience, and an understanding of expectations, with respect to each stage of the admin process for event management: from registration to contact list organisation, from data management to handling secure ticketing systems. Our admin processes are versatile, allowing us to meet any of the unique requirements of our clients.

ACT 4. Your Voice.

What distinguishes a good event from the rest is how we get the right character in all the right places, part of that process is being able to meet every event angle. Sometimes, website development presents an unexpected challenge, especially when an event could stand to benefit handsomely from online presence.

ACT 5. It’s time to have fun.

Waiting for the event to happen is hard enough, and it’s no surprise, that successful event planning and implementation is time-consuming and requires expertise. At C&A, we can, and do, everything at our professional disposal to ensure that our clients feel completely supported through each and every stage of the event process. Hence, by Act 5, it’s time to really and truly enjoy yourself!

The Event’s the Thing!

Our Philosophy for Event Management

What We Are Doing is Different

Act I (Setting the Stage)

An event, in many ways, is like a five-act play. First, we encourage our clients to identify the purpose of the event. If an event’s function is identified, then the next step in the event planning process is to match place with function, that is, to secure a venue whose tone fits with the character of your event vision. This whole process is where Connerly & Associates steps in, to work with you to understand your event needs and determine what type of destination matches both your vision and your budget. Because when we are given a budget, we stay within it.

After years of hardwork, launching a new product is always an exciting time for a business, either large or small. Events whose main purpose is to introduce the world to a new product present unique challenges to many event organisers. While certain types of event venues can be designed to handle any kind of occasion, holding events specially designed to showcase new products in competitive markets often precludes many readily available venues. The reason for this is character; if, for example, one of our clients wishes to launch a new restaurant at an exclusive golf resort in Orange County, then our approach will be different than the one we use for a client looking to launch a new dental product.

It’s true that this should be obvious but there are companies that skip this vital part of the event process: the end result being that clients with other firms are mismatched with venues that do not truly met either their needs or the tone best suited for those needs. In short, they are given places with the wrong character.

At Connerly & Associates, we take Act I with the utmost heart, guiding our clients every step of the way, to ensure that after exploring different options for venues, we arrive at the one with the right character for your needs.

Act II (What to do?)

No matter what your unique goals are for your event, we will find the right venue because we will only recommend the venue with the right character to host your event, which includes offering the right options for activities for your guests to participate in. This approach will generate the level of enthusiasm our clients are seeking.

Act III (Administration)

Part of what makes an event successful is the “well-oiled machinery” of administration. Most staff members here at C&A have been with the firm for 15 years or more, providing clients with stability, experience, and an understanding of expectations, with respect to each stage of the admin process for event management: from registration to contact list organisation, from data management to handling secure ticketing systems. Our admin processes are versatile, allowing us to meet any of the unique requirements of our clients.

Act IV (Your Signature)

What distinguishes a good event from the rest is how we get the right character in all the right places, part of that process is being able to meet every event angle. Sometimes, website development presents an unexpected challenge, especially when an event could stand to benefit handsomely from online presence. We are equipped to provide solutions to all these angles for your event requirements. If you’re having problems with vendors, we’ll take care of them; if you’re frustrated with website management for the event, we can be custodians of the online content and manage it for you; if you prefer ground transportation to be arranged for your guests, using the city’s eco-friendly public transit services, we’ll arrange for it.

Act V (The Event’s the Thing!)

Enjoy yourself!

Waiting for the event to happen is hard enough, and it’s no surprise, that successful event planning and implementation is time-consuming and requires expertise. At C&A, we can, and do, everything at our professional disposal to ensure that our clients feel completely supported through each and every stage of the event process. From Act I to Act V, we’re here to help you “bring the house down,” so that way you’ll be sure to have an event whose character honors your vision, matches the venue, and provides the right types of activities that likewise meets the needs and perhaps even exceeds the expectations of the participants.
